VÍŠEK, TOMÁŠ

He has premiered numerous compositions, recorded original piano works by Zdeněk Fibich and Josef Suk, and enjoys discovering forgotten or unpublished compositions which he attempts to reintroduce to the public by both playing them in concerts and making radio and CD recordings (for example Karel Bendl, Otilie Suková-Dvořáková, Josef Suk Jr., Bohuslav Martinů, Vítězslava Kaprálová). He has even reconstructed and completed three compositions of Antonín Dvořák. For a number of years now, Víšek has devoted himself to the piano works of Jaroslav Ježek and performed his repertoire in concerts here and abroad, always to the great delight of audiences (for example in 2014 he played Ježek’s Piano Concert at the Prague Spring festival). In 2006, he recorded the thematic Bugatti-Step CD (Studio Matouš – MK 0055-2131) using Jaroslav Ježek’s original piano (a Steinway and Sons grand piano, model M, New York, 1927-1928). This CD features a broad range of Ježek’s compositions, including the title track. Víšek is also a devoted student of Ježek’s chamber works for piano (songs, Violin Sonata).
