GIEBLER, CYNDEE B. (b. 1958)

Cyndee B. Giebler (born July 7, 1958) is a Wisconsin Elementary School Music Educator teaching in the Menominee, Michigan Elementary Schools whose student’s are a constant inspiration for her music composition. From 1992-1998 while teaching at Holy Family School in Marinette, Wisconsin, "Away in a Manger," "Gloria Deo," "Il Est Ne," "I Heard a Bird Sing" and "The Bullfrog’s Song" were born. Here she taught classroom music, chorus, orchestra and directed an annual musical. Before teaching at Holy Family School, she had a private Suzuki violin and piano studio. Cyndee studied composition at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota from which she has received her master’s degree in 2004. Cyndee is active member of the American Orff Schulwerk Association and frequently presents workshops around the country. As a composer, Cyndee writes sturdy singable melodies for children’s voices with accessible harmony parts. Lively and appealing accompaniments support the singing with rhythmic and aural interest.

"Serendipity March" (AP-06018) is Cyndee's contribution to much needed beginning Grade 2 band repertoire for the small ensembles. Another concert band work is "Patriotic Patchwork" (AP-06017) for the Grade 1 band.
