BROWN, JULIE K. (b. 1977)

Composer and Music Educator, Julie K. Brown, was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1977, and graduated from Memorial High School. She received her undergraduate degrees in music education and composition from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Her masters degree in music education was received at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

 

Julie Brown teaches beginning and middle level band in the Appleton (Wisconsin) Area School District. She subscribes to student-centered instructional concepts and is a member of an action-research team that focuses on student-centered learning. A number of her articles on this subject have been published in state and national periodicals. She serves on the WMEA council as Government Relations Chair. Appleton, Wisconsin is home for Julie, Adam and their son, Sebastian.
